High Definition Television, or more commonly known as HDTV, began wide distribution in the year 2001. Today HDTVs are one of the hottest items on the market, and the most popular televisions in 2008. These televisions feature an amazing picture that’s up to ten times sharper and clearer than a standard television. In addition, several networks have begun to broadcast in high definition; but you can only take full advantage of this if you own an HDTV. The HDTV picture is so sharp that in the initial network switches to high definition, news anchors complained that they didn’t look attractive in high definition, and were having to spend much more time on make-up than before.
HDTVs are available from several brands in flat screen, panel, and plasma. The highest quality picture comes from a plasma HDTV, and now you can even find premium quality discount plasma TV models online.

Last weekend my friends and I decided to have a gaming party. We all brought our Xbox 360 consoles, and played multi-player games all weekend. The best part was my friend who hosted the party had a 1080i HDTV and an HDMI cable for his Xbox 360, so we played all weekend in full high definition, and the experience was amazing. We also watched a couple of Blu-Ray movies on his HDTV and both the sound and the picture quality were amazing. I liked his 1080i HDTV so much that I went out and bought one for myself the next weekend!
Now I can play Xbox 360 in gorgeous high definition, and also watch Blu-Ray DVDs in the comfort of my own home. I think I might even host the next gaming party!
